Every Act of Kindness Changes a Life

Whether you give your time, your skills, your goods, or your financial support — every contribution goes directly to the children in our care. Here’s how you can make your mark.

Whether you spend a Saturday afternoon, arrange a group volunteer day with your colleagues, or commit to a regular weekly slot — every hour counts.

LEAVE A BEQUEST

A Gift That Outlives You

For over 100 years, COACH has depended on the generosity of people who believed that every child deserves a chance. A bequest — a gift left through your Will — is one of the most profound ways you can extend that belief beyond your own lifetime. It costs nothing today, but makes an immeasurable difference to the children of tomorrow.

Under South African legislation, a bequest to a charitable organisation is exempt from Estate Duty, meaning it also offers a meaningful way to reduce the tax burden on your estate.

Types of Bequests

General Bequest

A specific amount, a particular asset, or a fixed percentage of your estate designated to COACH.

Specific Bequest

A particular item or property bequeathed for a designated purpose — for example, furniture donated directly to one of our homes.

Residuary Bequest

The residue of your assets after all other conditions of your Will have been satisfied.

Contingency Bequest

A portion of your estate left to COACH if your named beneficiary does not survive you.

What is a Bequest?

A bequest is a gift from your estate to a charitable organisation, made through your last Will and Testament. By naming COACH as a beneficiary, you ensure that your legacy continues to provide safety, healing, and opportunity to vulnerable children long after you are gone.

How to Include COACH in Your Will

If you already have a Will

You can add COACH as a beneficiary through a codicil — a simple legal addition to your existing Will that does not require rewriting the entire document. A codicil must be signed and witnessed by two people. We recommend discussing any changes with your attorney or financial advisor.

If you don’t yet have a Will

Now is a good time to start. Make an appointment with your attorney or financial advisor, who will guide you through the process and ensure your wishes are clearly and legally documented.
