Helping Children Take the Next BIG Step

The Coalition of Anglican Children’s Homes has been a place of safety, healing, and hope for vulnerable children in Johannesburg for over 100 years.

Every Child Deserves a Chance to Thrive

We provide residential and therapeutic care for children placed in our homes by the Children’s Court — children who have faced neglect, abuse, and abandonment — and we walk with them every step of the way.

You Can Change a Child's Story

Whether you volunteer your time, donate goods, or give financially — your support goes directly to the children in our care. There are many ways to get involved.

Safe & Stable Homes

Children placed in our care live in nurturing residential homes where their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met every day.

Therapeutic Care

Our trained social workers, counsellors, and child and youth care workers provide intensive therapy and support to help children overcome trauma.

A Future to Step Into

Through education, life skills, and vocational training, we equip young people with the tools they need to become independent, confident adults.

Who We Are

COACH — the Coalition of Anglican Children’s Homes — is a registered non-profit organisation running two children’s homes in the Johannesburg area. We provide residential and therapeutic care to children who have been placed in our homes by the Children’s Court, children who have experienced neglect, abuse, or abandonment and need a safe, structured, and loving environment in which to heal.

Founded in 2002 to unite the efforts of our homes under one roof, COACH brings together over a century of combined experience in caring for vulnerable children. We are more than a place to stay — we are a community of care workers, social workers, educators, and supporters committed to walking with each child on their journey forward.

St. George’s Home

Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni

Established in 1915, St. George’s Home cares for young people between the ages of 14 and 18 who face learning disabilities and barriers to mainstream education. Through counselling, the ABET Education Programme, vocational training, and our Life Campus programme, we help these young people build confidence, restore their self-worth, and prepare for independent adult life.

St. Nicolas’ Home

Sophiatown, Johannesburg

Established in 1965, St. Nicolas Home provides therapeutic residential care for children aged 5 to 18 who have been found to need care and protection under the Children’s Act. In a safe and empowering environment, children receive accommodation, nutrition, education, healthcare, and intensive therapy — helping them overcome the emotional wounds of abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
